Partnership for Inclusion strengthened between the CBCHS and the LF
A high-level delegation from the #LilianeFoundation (LF) has left Cameroon satisfied with their work through the Cameroon Baptist Convention (CBC) Health Services, their Strategic Partner Organization in the country.
The team led by the Director of the Liliane Foundation, Erik Jan Maurits Ackerman during their one-week working visit had the opportunity to witness the fruits of their more than 10 years of partnership under the Empowerment and Disability Inclusive Development (EDID) program. They also created time to visit communities and discover the continuous needs of children, youths, and adults with disabilities, as well as meet some of the Partner Organizations (POs) they liaise with to provide services in the communities.
The Liliane Foundation’s work in Cameroon has been successful, thanks to the collaboration of partner organizations including Ministries like the Ministry of Social Affairs, and Secondary Education among others.
Receiving the delegation, the Minister of Social Affairs, Mme. Pauline Irene Nguene expressed that “our [their] partnership with the CBC is wonderful”. She extended her gratitude to the LF for working to see to it that the lives of persons with disabilities are improved, while at the same time pledging the continuous unflinching support of her Ministry for this cause.
Inclusion at all levels is gradually coming to light in Cameroon, thanks to the inclusion strategy of implementing partners to ensure that the needs of all children and youths with disabilities are taken care of.
This fact was reechoed by the Regional Delegate for Secondary Education who applauds the collaboration, especially in inclusive education. The work of the LF in Cameroon ensures improvement in education, social inclusion, livelihood, health, and research that promotes and improves the quality of life for children and adults with disabilities.
The Director of CBC Health Services, Professor Tih Pius Muffih used this occasion to present the institution which has been growing beyond bounds to render valuable services, thanks to collaboration received from external partners like the LF.
The Program Manager of the EDID program, Mrs. Agho Glory, who accompanied the visitors throughout their trip, praised the Minister of Social affairs for providing an enabling environment to implement these services in 9 regions of Cameroon. The intervention and support of the Ministry in the training of Rehabilitation Professionals, she buttressed, cannot be overlooked. With this collaboration, the common vision of inclusion for the Ministry and the country will be accomplished.
Other members of the delegation from LF included the Board Chair, two Board members, and the Organizational Development Adviser.
