TSD Senior Staff called to be honest, work in Synergy
Honesty, team work and love between supervisors and their subordinates have been prescribed as the panacea to sustain the Technical Services Department (TSD) of the CBC Health Services. Prof. Tih Pius Muffih, Director of Health Services (DHS) made this prescription on February 24, 2022 at the Baptist Center Conference Hall in Bamenda while addressing a two days workshop for TSD and Procurement Officers.
The participants included: station supervisors, site supervisors, procurement officers and senior technicians drawn from hospitals and health centers across the Board.
Without mincing words, the DHS congratulated the staff of TSD for working hard in fostering the overall mission of the CBCHS via their technical skills but harped on the need for them to steer clear of activities that may compromise their good work. “Make good use of your time; as stewards, do not fake receipts to make extra gain”. Prof. Tih advised the technicians to do additional things like running personal businesses that do not conflict with their jobs to make more money than to steal. The DHS encouraged the TSD supervisors to have a listening ear to those working under them than shout and bully them.
In the same line, Rev. Fongoh Godwin, chaplain at the CBCHS Central Administration brought a lesson on “Living as faithful stewards in a fallen word”. The chaplain outlined four Biblical principles of stewardship. God owns all that we are and have, we have the responsibility to care for what God has entrusted to us, we shall give an account of those things to God and we shall receive a reward in measure to our stewardship.
The two-day workshop (February 24-25, 2022) provided a rare opportunity for the senior staff led by TSD Administrator, Mr. Nyuonguo Kenneth Nsom to take stock of their performances and to receive new refresher knowledge through the well selected lessons and facilitators.
Some of the lessons thought included: Leader’s qualities, quality standards and productivity improvement strategies; M&E (Introduction to PMEL system of reporting/reporting format and report tools); Accessibility Audit/ Audit reporting format and reporting tools; Universal design and accessibility trends on projects professional and conventional ethics/SOPs; and Procurement implications in the current CBCHS context among others.
