Data clerks of the CBC NCD Prevention and Control Program have been equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary for improved data reporting and management, ultimately enhancing the quality of healthcare provided in the fight against NCDs. The NCD Program Officer, Nfor Shirley, and the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, Kpeya Queen facilitat the one-day workshop that held at the Baptist Centre Nkwen, Bamenda, on March 29, 2025.
During the training, the Program Officer provided a thorough overview of NCDs, NCD Program follow-up form, filling of NCD program registers, and outlined the services offered by the NCD Prevention and Control Program.

The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, on her part, led an extensive session on understanding NCD reporting tools, the practical application of NCD Google Sheets, the importance of reporting, and the qualities of an effective report.
According to Nfor Shirley, the Program Officer, “The training was organized for data clerks who are responsible for reporting on all activities conducted at the various stations. It was essential because of upgrades in our services, which require data clerks to be trained on how to report on these new services using a new reporting tool.

The training also addressed reporting challenges identified during the end-of-year facilitative supervision last year. The workshop clarified doubts, reviewed all reporting indicators, and engaged in one-on-one discussions with the data clerks to understand the gaps and challenges they face in submitting their monthly reports. “This will enable us to help them produce high-quality reports. Given that work done without reporting is essentially work not done, data clerks are key staff members in ensuring the accurate and timely reporting of our daily activities,” the Program Officer explained.
The training had a significant impact on the data clerks as they return to their respective facilities better equipped to accurately and efficiently report on all NCD-related activities, utilize the new reporting tools and systems effectively, address previous reporting challenges and improve data quality which will ultimately lead to improved monitoring and evaluation of the NCD Prevention and Control Program of the CBC Health Services.
