Ngounso Baptist Health Center Soon to Bid Farewell to Epileptic Electricity, Water Supply
The partnership between the CBC Health Services and Hope and Healing International (HHI) continues to improve the quality of life of the needy, sick, and other underprivileged beneficiaries of the CBC Health Services.
Ngounso Baptist Health Center, one of CBC Health Services’ fast-growing facilities has suffered water and electricity supply shortages for many years. The story is changing for the better following the ongoing installation of a high-capacity solar system funded by Hope and Healing International Canada through the Socio-Economic Empowerment of People with Disabilities, SEEPD, program of the CBC Health Services. Alongside, is the construction of a borehole that will increase the supply of water in the hospital.
According to the Site Engineer, Gwagsi Elvis Tombuh, the project is a 57 kilowatts system with 81 solar panels of 450 watts each that has been realized with lithium solar batteries which will be able to supply electricity that will run the hospital appliances effectively.
Relatedly, the borehole will provide the hospital with a constant water supply, especially to delicate services like the maternity, pediatric ward, and clubfoot clinic to facilitate rehabilitation and improve the quality of life of caregivers and service providers.
The Supervisor of the electricity and water installation Projects Mr. Kini Emmanuel said he is satisfied with the quality of work done so far and is hopeful at completion the issue of electricity and water shortage will be a thing of the past
SEEPD Program Manager, Jacques Chirac Awa said, that due to the availability of specialized services offered by this hospital such as physiotherapy, clubfoot clinic, eye clinic, mother and childcare services, and an operating theatre, it serves as a referral hospital in neighboring health districts yet struggled with quality portable water and electricity. According to the Program Manager, electricity and water needed to be increased to ensure the availability of environmentally friendly energy to run the hospital and its associated services, the reason why the CBC Health Services solicited the support of Hope and Healing International for this purpose.
The staff and patients of Ngounso Baptist Hospital are impatiently waiting to start enjoying the abundance of electricity and water supply.
