Leaders of CBC Health Services commit to ensure Maintenance of Quality Healthcare Delivery in 2020
Leaders of the Cameroon Baptist Convention (CBC) Health Services have brainstormed on best strategies to move the ship of the Institution forward and sail through difficult moments that are challenging to healthcare delivery in Cameroon. The resolve came through from November 21 – 23, 2019 during the Goals and Budgets meeting that held in Mboppi Baptist Hospital in Douala to plan and to address answers to questions that will forge the organization ahead in 2020.
Institution and Service Heads of the various departments and projects presented their respective goals for 2020 and the accompanying budgets needed to achieve the goals.
Addressing this meeting, the Director of the CBC Health Services (DHS), Prof. Tih Pius Muffih charged the leaders to take the institution from where they met it to a higher level. While calling on leaders to engage on proper planning, prayer and, hard work, he also enjoined them to build the organization and work to leave a legacy that reflects their desires. Making judgements informed by his visits to some facilities during a working tour that took him to some facilities in the North, Littoral and South regions, Prof Tih applauded the Central Pharmacy (CP) for ensuring drug availability in all facilities. He also took off time to praise institutions for maintaining neatness and proper organization within their facilities and the sense of stewardship demonstrated by many. The leaders were also praised for their level of intelligence, experience, and determination which has been able to make the organization to survive through the crisis.
Looking at income generation, the Director declared that income has declined in the Northwest and Southwest Regions, a situation that has put the institution in a difficult state, and obliging the putting in place of lower budgets, as compared to that of the previous years.
The challenges faced by the institution at the moment, the Director noted, also involve a lot of distractions. He used this opportunity to encourage all leaders to be focused, steadfast, while at the same time give a listening ear to detractors in order to advise and reprimand them.
Corroborating the DHS, the CBCHS Personnel Manager, Mr. Ndosak George called on the leaders not to be discouraged and dismayed by the challenges they are facing, but to remember that all the staff of the institution look up to them to boost their hope through advice.
The CBC Health Services is an organization that is labour intensive, financial intensive, quality-drug intensive and works tirelessly to maintain the quality achieved through the years. The same quality is intended to run through the next 2020 financial year.
