Hope and Healing International and the CBC Health Services Recommit to Prevent Disabilities from Clubfoot in Cameroon
The CBC Health Services partnership with Hope and Healing International continues to raise hopes in communities and prevent disabilities resulting from malformations in Cameroon.
Recently Hope and Healing International has allocated additional funds to support the treatment of children below 4 years of age with clubfoot in Cameroon under a new initiative known as Clubfoot Programme in Cameroon. The Programme is a transition from the Integrated Approach to Managing Disability resulting from Musculoskeletal deformities in children in the West and Adamawa Regions of Cameroon. Within the context of this new Programme which runs from January to June 2024, the CBC Health Services will treat 130 new cases of clubfoot in children below 2 years old. Meanwhile the Programme will also continue with the treatment of 100 children with musculoskeletal deformities and 100 children with neglected clubfoot which started under the former project. The new Programme will also see the follow up of 350 cases which were treated under the Cameroon Clubfoot Care Project which phased out in December 2023.
Beginning July 2024 after the end of this transitional Phase, the Clubfoot Programme in Cameroon will continue specifically with clubfoot treatment while other musculoskeletal deformities will be treated under a different initiative depending on outcome of discussions between the CBC Health Services and Hope and Healing International.
