Fund Georges’ Urgent Dental Surgery / Rehabilitation
Georges Fongang, aged 22, is a young lad with a great ambition to become an electrical engineer. This dream is threatened by his complicated dental condition that has made him drop out of school. Georges’ teeth are exposed as he can’t close his mouth.
The condition is as a result of poor breathing habits that weren’t sorted from childhood. Instead of breathing through his nostrils, he has grown up breathing through his mouth and over time, his tongue has pushed out his teeth.
Georges painfully recounts how his worrisome condition made him leave school shortly after his outstanding performance at the Baccalaureate; the equivalence of GCE Advanced Level. He has lost his self-esteem; experienced stigma from his friends; earned names, and can’t remember the last time he smiled because of this dental complication.
According to Dr. Chimoun Francois, a Dental Surgeon at Mboppi Baptist Hospital Douala (MBHD), Georges requires a series of major operations and rehabilitation to last for about two years. The cost of the operations alone is estimated at 3 million FCFA (about USD 5,700) which unfortunately the meager earning of his underprivileged family can’t afford.
Already, Gerges has begun receiving preparatory treatment at the CBC Health Services’ Dental Clinic (Mbingo Annex Nkwen) in Bamenda. The major surgery will be done at a private Clinic in Bafoussam – Cameroon.
With your donation, Georges’ condition will be rectified and he would be able to eat, drink and smile without any difficulty. In his own words, “Maybe after the operation and rehabilitation, many people will not be able to recognize me again.”
Our second objective is to help Georges pay his tuition fees in a renowned electrical engineering University in Cameroon. As a result, we hope to raise an additional USD 4300. This will bring the target amount we hope to fundraise to USD 10,000.
Georges is counting on you to help put a smile on his face and revive his dream of becoming an electrical engineer.
We count on your generous giving to help Georges realize his dreams. That being said, every amount you contribute is well valued and we will not fail to acknowledge your goodwill.
