CBCHS Hones Skills to Make IPC & WASH More Efficient
The CBC Health Services Infection Prevention Control (IPC) and WASH Committee have in a workshop and a Committee meeting sharpened, and upgraded the skills of program staff on infection prevention control and WASH as well as formulated strategies to revamp and make infection control more effective in the CBC Health Services. The 2-day workshop and meeting rounded up at the Baptist Centre Nkwen, Bamenda on January 20, 2024.
According to the lead trainer, Mr. Kongnyu Emmanuel, “The two-day workshop focused on upgrading staff knowledge on IPC and WASH practices and review WASH Fit tools and hand Hygiene survey tools”. The Committee also carried out a practicum at Nkwen Baptist Hospital”.
The workshop also looked at introduction to water and sanitation, introduction to outbreak investigation, introduction to risk analysis, tips on environmental cleaning, and green hospitals.
The workshop ended with a Committee meeting of the IPC & WASH program to put in place 14 strategies to revamp and make infection control more efficient. They focused more on housekeeping in hospitals and came up with 13 resolutions that will be implemented in the course of the year 2024.
The workshop also deliberated on how to run the affairs of the program. Meantime, the Committee meeting adopted the 5-year strategic plan developed for implementation.
