A New Dawn for Healthcare as Director of Health Services signs Landmark MoU with Maxtar Bio-Genics

Handshake of Partnership between CBCHS and Maxtar Bio-Genics

The Cameroon Baptist Convention Health Services (CBCHS) has taken a bold step toward transforming patient care by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with India’s Maxtar Bio-Genics, a WHO-GMP certified pharmaceutical company. The journey began earlier this year when CBCHS Director of Health Services, Mr. Ngum Samuel, alongside Pharmacist Edward Ngah Ndze, visited India to ensure that any future collaboration would meet the highest standards of quality and safety. This prequalification visit laid the groundwork for a partnership rooted in trust and transparency, designed to strengthen quality control and guarantee consistent access to essential medicines.

This partnership signed by the Director of Health Services and Managing Director of Maxtar Bio-Genics was sealed on June 30, 2026, intended to establish a long-term commercial supply relationship for the manufacture and supply of pharmaceutical products through the CBC Health Services Central Pharmacy, with promises to bridge critical gaps in medication supply and ensure affordable, high-quality medications reach patients across Cameroon.

Meeting the Last Mile of Care

For the CBC Health Services, pharmaceuticals are not just products they are the final bridge between medical expertise and patient well-being. As the Director of Health Services, Mr. Ngum Samuel emphasized, “When we talk of pharmaceuticals, we want to talk more of affordability, accessibility, and quality.” His words reflect a broader vision ensuring that patients receive the medications they need without sacrificing their household income and basic needs.  He signaled that this MoU is a move to directly support Cameroon’s national policy on Universal Health Coverage (UHC), a policy goal that seeks to make healthcare both accessible and sustainable. This is a step in ensuring that we want to actually do something that is good for our communities, for ourselves, to the country and for the patients, that we take care of,” he said.
