CONSULTANTS TO SUPPORT TEACHERS AND PEDAGOGIC INSPECTORS

The Cameroon Baptist Convention (CBC) Health Services requires the services of a qualified Consultant to support the training of Teachers with Vision Impairment, ICT Teachers/Pedagogic Inspectors, as part of the implementation of ICT and Assistive Technology Trainings, within the context of the Inclusive Education Project implemented in the Northwest Region of Cameroon.

The selected Consultant shall lead the training of teachers with vision impairment on the use of ICT and assistive technology, and ICT teachers and/or pedagogic inspectors of ICT on how to teach ICT skills to learners who are Blind or have severe vision impairment.

The selected Consultant shall:

  1. Collect baseline information on the capacities and training needs of prospective learner trainees,
  2. Develop an accessible and context-appropriate training package,
  3. Facilitate a training of teachers with vision impairment (5 to 7 days) and ICT Teachers and Pedagogic Inspectors (3 to 5 days)
  4. Submit a brief final report with recommendations.

Consultant Profile

Interested candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Holder of at least a Master’s Degree in either Special Needs/Inclusive Education, Educational Technology, Rehabilitation, Disability Studies, ICT in Education, or a related field,
  • Proven experience working with learners with vision impairment/blindness or print disabilities,
  • Knowledge of accessible ICT and assistive technology,
  • Experience in adult training, teacher professional development, and/or pedagogic support,
  • Have good report writing skills.

  • A brief technical proposal which should include the applicant’s proposed approach to baseline assessment, including the method of data collection and a sample or outline of the baseline tool.
