Some 42 community members from the West, Adamawa and South West Regions of Cameroon have committed to fish out all women with fistula in their communities and refer for treatment.
The first set of women with fistula to be treated under the current phase of the Obstetric Fistula Project have congregated in Mbingo Baptist Hospital. These women, 8 in number arrived in Mbingo on Friday and Saturday, June 14 and 15, 2024.
Fifty community mobilisers have been trained to identify and refer women with obstetric fistula to existing services.
