Standardizing MCH: CBC Health Services Chart Roadmap
Dr. Manga Simeon, Deputy Director for Clinical Affairs in the Cameroon Baptist Convention Health Services has called for the harmonization of staffing in all the Maternal and Child Health services units of the organization. He was speaking in Bamenda while chairing an enlarged meeting that rallied Supervisors and Managers of MCH services.
He noted that the scenario where MCH service units in some hospitals and health centres were overloaded with staff, while others were in want will henceforth be a thing of the past. “Staff have to allocated base on needs and workload, said Dr. Manga
During the meeting, the supervisors and managers said a needs assessment has to be made when recruiting, posting and moving MCH staff.
Mr. Fombe Justine, MCH Supervisor bemoaned the practice of marketing kits for neonates in most maternities of the Health Service. He said it is a practiced, which should be discouraged in all fronts as jeopardizes the care and the reputation of the organization.
The meeting on March 25, 2022 at the DHS Conference Hall in Nkwen-Bamenda was equally a forum to review the obstetrics guidelines and nurses procedure manual.
