RAISE for Sahel Cameroon team brings Immunisation stakeholders on Same Wavelength
On April 3, 2023, the CBC Health Services – RAISE for Sahel (R4S) team presented its Zero Immunization Program (ZIP) second phase work plan and its draft data collection tools for review to the EPI core team and partners. The Permanent Secretary, Dr. Tchokle Shalom Ndoula, chaired the working session which held at Mvan Resource Center, Yaounde.
The meeting mobilised representatives of the EPI, the Ministry of Public Health, WHO, UNICEF, CHAI, GAVI, PROVARESSC, Family Club and the R4S Cameroon team under the leadership of its Manager, Dr. Eugène Foyeth, who presented the objectives and methodology of the session to the audience, before handing over to the Technical Coordinator, to unfold the work plan in the nine implementing districts.
The MEL Lead presented the draft data collection tools and its innovative approach and made it clear to participants to understand when, where and how the project intends to start collecting data to track, identify, reach, monitor and ensure the effective immunisation of zero-dose children in missed communities.
For her part, the Gender Equality, Social Inclusion and Social Behaviour Change (GESI / SBC) Lead, explained how GESI and SBC would bring an innovative element to the project by ensuring that every strategy will meaningfully engage every actor from the designing, implementing and evaluating of the project.
These presentations were followed by participants’ appreciation and suggestions to improve coordination mechanisms, data sharing and collection tools. At the end of the working session, the R4S Country Manager announced the regional teams’ commitment to finalise micro plans and the effective start of activities with the operational launch in the regions concerned.
The Assistant Permanent secretary, Dr. Andreas Ngoh Ateke closed the session by commending the team and reiterating collaborative strategies to avoid duplication of activities and ensure all children in the country are immunised.
