Prof. Tih Venerated at Family Thanksgiving
Family members, friends from far and near, colleagues from the CBC Health Services, collaborators of the CBC as a whole and Christians of Nkwen Baptist Church in Bamenda have variously described Prof.
Tih Pius Muffih, Director of CBC Health Services (DHS) is a caring and loving father, an astute builder of people and services and a faithful Christian who depended on God in leading his family and the CBC Health Services.
These commendations came through loud and clear when the Pius Tih family came out in full colours on Sunday, January 7, 2024, in a Thanksgiving Service at Nkwen Baptist Church. The over 3000 worshippers in attendance for the occasion joined the Tih family in singing, dancing and generous giving to support the project the family earmarked to channel the funds raised into namely: the completion of the ongoing storey building to house the future pastors of Nkwen Baptist Church. On behalf of his family, Prof. Tih appealed to the church to also extend a hand of goodwill to Bamenda Field which is also struggling with a building project to conveniently accommodate the services of the field.
Prof. Tih gave two reasons why he and his family came to give thanks to God. The first reason was to thank God for sustaining the CBC Health Services during his tenure and the second reason was the blessing of family, both immediate and extended.
As DHS, Prof. Tih said the CBC Health Services has the capacity to affect the entire CBC and the country as a whole. This was the case when he became Director. His vision, he said, is to see a CBC Health Services that will continue with this capacity into the future.
Rev. Dr. Vegah Shadrach, Senior Pastor of Gospel Baptist Church in Bamenda preached from Psalm 127:1-5 under the title, “Unless the Lord builds your Career and Family”. The preacher highlighted three points namely: Unless the Lord builds the house, the labourers labour in vain; Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain; and Unless the Lord provides for the family, how much we work and invest will yield to nothing.
As an application, Rev. Dr. Vegah said, that every divine mission has a divine provision. According to him, God gave Prof. Tih Pius Muffih a vision for the CBC Health Services and provided him the resources to sustain the system. Alluding to the statistical growth of the CBC Health Services, Rev. Dr. Vegah described Prof. Tih as a builder of people and systems like the CBC Health Services. The Man of God challenged the audience to emulate Prof. Tih by cultivating the habit of hard work wherever we find ourselves because it will someday also result in success. He discouraged the attitude of sharing what is not worked for, because it only leads to chaos in the house.
Deputizing for the CBC Executive President, Rev. Dr. Nditemeh Charlemagne who had commenced his annual visit to CBC Fields and could not be part of the celebration, his Administrative Assistant, Rev. Shanui Frankline prayed for the Tih family and the unity of the Church.
The Thanksgiving Service fetched Nkwen Baptist Church and perhaps by extension Bamenda Field over 23 million francs to invest into their ongoing projects. Part two celebrations continued at the Pastoral Center Upstation Bamenda where there was enough wining and dining for everyone.
