New Subdivisional Officer of Bangourain hails Kouhouat Baptist Health Center for High Standards
The adage that “Goldfish has no hiding place” could aptly apply to the visit of the Subdivisional Officer (D.O) of Bangourain to Kouhouat Baptist Health Center (KBHC) on Thursday, January 13, 2022. Barely two months in office, the new D.O of Bangourain Subdivision in the Noun Division of the West region hit the road to acquaint himself with services and the people under his jurisdiction.
Just like his predecessors, D.O Ndi Jules Patrick made a discovery in KBHC. In a guided tour of the health facility by the chief of center (COC), the D.O and his entourage were marveled and amazed by the beautiful structures, the compassionate and hard-working staff led by the COC, Mr. Yongka Wilfred and above all, the quality and quantity of services offered in a rural community as Kouhouat.
In the words of Nfor Gilbert Shey, our Kouhouat based correspondent, the D.O felt proud to have such high-quality facility in his area of command. He was reassured that KBHC can face any epidemic, pandemic and any health hazard that may come up in the area. The civil administrator was equally pleased to learn that KBHC has a resident chaplain to attend to the spiritual needs of the clients and staff. He promised to assist the health center in every means he can to uphold the standard of the facility.
The D.O of Bangourain’s maiden meet-the-people’s tour ended at the village head’s palace where he addressed the local population.
It should be recalled that the outgone D.O, Mr. Yepga Mathieu Brice awarded KBHC on two separate occasions. The first award was the best and cleanest health facility in the subdivision and the second was the cleanest and hygiene-oriented services in the subdivision. Reports say, D.O Yepga’s hygiene and sanitation plan for the subdivision influenced the local population to organize regular clean-up campaigns in the villages.
