COVID-19 Fight: NBHC Receives Consignment of Sanitary Equipment
Nkwen Baptist Health Centre (NBHC) has received sanitary equipment from The Redeemed Christian Church of God in Bamenda. The donation comprising soap, buckets with taps, and facial masks is part of the church’s input in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
Receiving the items, Mrs. Chimi Emmerencia, Supervisor of Nursing Services said the donation was timely. “We receive patients on a daily basis, who come without a facemask and can’t afford one when advised. Therefore with this consignment, we will be able to help the patients out there. I particularly appreciate The Redeemed Christian Church of God for this donation. On behalf of our patients, we say thank you!” Like Oliver Twist, the SNS implored for more donations to arm them in the vigorous fight against the deadly pandemic.
Handwashing, which is one of the recommended methods to limit or slow the spread of the Coronavirus, will be wishful thinking if accessories like buckets and soap are absent. Hence, the move to donate these items by the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) is indeed a ‘stitch in time’.
Speaking to CBC Health Services Communications, Pastor Alexander Mokoto of The Redeemed Church of God in Bamenda said, “We are following the footsteps of Jesus, who during his earthly ministry went about doing good. So as he instructed us, we are just doing good for mankind. We pray that may this donation be of blessing to many. We choose NBHC because it is a catchment health facility where many come for care in the city, therefore we believe that through our gift, we will touch many lives.” The head of the church added that the donation is part of our Christian social responsibility aimed at giving back to our community where we belong.
The donation of sanitary and protective material against Coronavirus is the church’s Christian Social Responsibility (CRS) a derivate of Corporate Social Responsibility. The CRS is aimed at making visible Christian impact in various areas of society. The Redeemed Church of God is working in partnership with the Cameroon-American Military Professionals.
