In another season of evaluation, progress monitoring, and staffing readjustments at the Cameroon Baptist Convention (CBC) Health Services, its leaders converged on Yaounde for a brainstorming session to determine the path they would follow. The mid-term activity to review the goals and budgets set for 2026 and make major decisions on staff transfers and postings took place at the CBC Health Service Mvan Resource Center of Excellence from May 18-19, 2026.
Attended by leaders from all the institution’s health facilities across Cameroon, they came with the singular intention of bringing updates on their respective facilities regarding the goals adopted in November 2025.

Opening the meetings, the Director of CBC Health Services (DHS), Mr. Ngum Samuel took time to appreciate the leaders for the work they do, sometimes in very challenging situations. He elaborated on “Building Excellence Across Health Networks; and Mission-driven, Community-led healthcare”. These are the bedrocks (models) of the strong institution that the CBC Health Services is building on to achieve its five strategic goals namely;
- Consolidating performance – Quality Standards and Monitoring
- Expanding Services – Infrastructure and New Facilities
- Health and Wellness – The Resumption of the Director of Health Services (DHS) Tournament
- Central Pharmacy – Reliable Pharmaceutical Access
- HESCO Water – Water Bottling resumes.

The Director in his well-documented PowerPoint Presentation, gave details on all the successes achieved by the institution, ongoing activities, and the challenges faced in the implementation process. This implementation success, he emphasized, is largely thanks to the roots made by the CBC in its expansion into the communities. The Health Services leverages on this expansion to provide care to people in most vulnerable, hard-to-reach communities in all regions of Cameroon. The growth of programs implemented by the CBCHS in all the nooks and crannies of Cameroon, he admitted, has also contributed to the impact created in these communities. The bottom line was the confirmation that the CBC Health Services is taking the right direction and there is the necessity to be relentless in efforts for more advancement.

Representing the over 6000 staff at these meetings were Administrators, Chief Medical Officers, Chiefs of Centre, Finance Administrators, Heads of Training Schools, and Supervisors, who all took notes that would inform their decisions. They also took turns to provide important inputs related to their respective facilities. Their updates and keen attention paid to decisions that would affect the transfer of staff was testament to the fact that before every decision is taken, ample time and energy are employed to ensure efficacy.
These meetings also received Reverend Jumbuin Enock, a prominent clergyman within the Cameroon Baptist Convention (CBC) who serves as the Field Pastor for Yaounde Field Council of CBC Churches. In his usual eloquence as bearer of the message from the Executive President to the leaders, he buttressed the importance of work that is in line with the mission of the CBC. “Quality, Holistic, Christ-centred healthcare service delivery continues to prosper thanks to the work of the Health Department of the CBC,” he rejoiced. To these leaders, he bestowed renewed admiration in their endeavours and prayed for more ground to be broken, hearts touched, and multitudes treated for the glory of God.

The come together is usually a forum where leaders also get enriched through devotionals. For these two days, the Supervisor of Chaplaincy Services for the CBC Health Services, Reverend Dr. Nfor Ephesians drew inspiration from Matt 16: 13-18 and Ecc 3: 1, 11 with the topics “An Appraisal of Our Christian Faith” and “Understanding the Beauty of God’s Timing” respectively.
Firstly, during the Goals and Budgets review session, the prelate made the declaration that the victory of the CBCHS is sure, but can only be based on the growing faith in Christ. He called on leaders to function with consciousness of the appraisal made of the institution, positively or negatively, internally or externally to build their leadership activities. This informed appreciation of the institution, he posited, would guide their decisions geared towards maintaining a positive outlook. Secondly, on the Postings and Transfers session, he portrayed the beauty in postings and transfers and urged that this should be embraced as God’s timing. Every displacement should be divinely informed, he prayed.
The meetings ended with the Director of CBC Health Services wishing all leaders journey mercies while extending special greetings as they travelled back to their families and their loved ones.
