CBC Health Services has dedicated a new health facility at Nkoabang in Yaounde. The dedication of Nkoabang Baptist Health Centre on July 7, 2018 was presided over by the CBC Director of Health Services (DHS), Prof. Tih Pius Muffih. .
Prof. Tih Pius, used the event to thank the government for granting the authorization for the health centre to operate and for providing a conducive environment. The DHS was glad to announce that the health centre that first went operational in 2016 now sees an average of 70 patients per day.
The Representative of the CBC Executive President, Rev. Dr. Nditemeh Charlemagne (Yaounde Field Pastor) described the CBC Health Services as the first healthcare provider in Cameroon after the government. He encouraged the inhabitants of Nkoabang to make maximum use of the facility and services that have been brought right at their door-steps.
In a sermon titled “A place with a purpose”, the Pastor Botchat Cobnel, Chaplain of Etouge-Ebe Baptist Hospital, described the health centre as “a place with a purpose for a people with a purpose.” He also encouraged the staff to provide their services with humility, love and compassionate care to all.
“As an arm of the Church, we need to reach out to the inhabitants of Nkoabang… We must be committed in prayer as we do our work,” said the Chaplain.
The staff have equally been charged to work assiduously in keeping with the CBC Health Services’ mission statement.
“We need to make Nkoabang Baptist Health Centre a place of refuge, love, care, compassion, and a place where people with spiritual and psychological needs can run to for help,” said Pastor Botchat.
Whilst dedicating the new building and health centre staff, Rev. Pastor Tamka Genesis, advised the staff among other things to be gentle in the discharge of their duties, love one another, and avoid gossip and slander.
In an interview with the press, the Chief of Center for Nkoabang Baptist Health Center, Mr. Lemloh Gerald, disclosed that they see patients with various health conditions with the common sicknesses being malaria and anemia.
He said that as a Christian institution, the health centre’s mission is to provide quality services as an expression of Christian love. “We’ll educate the community on malaria and anemia and do our best to equip them with preventive measures,” stated Mr. Lemloh.
“We are not here to make money but to make sure that the CBC Health Services’ vision is achieved by making sure that patients who come to us receive the best quality care we offer. That’s is why even our prices are moderate,” expatiated Mr. Lemloh.
The high point of the event was the cutting of the symbolic ribbon by the representative of the CBC Executive President to declare the facility officially opened.
