From January 15 to 16, 2026, the Conference Hall of the Institution Camerounaise de l’Enfance (ICE) in Maroua hosted the annual outreach planning workshop for 2026. This workshop was organized within the framework of the project “Building Resilience for Enhanced Access to Basic Services of Health, Education and Social Inclusion in the Far North Region,” implemented by the Cameroon Baptist Health Services (CBCHS) in the divisions of Mayo-Sava, Mayo-Tsanaga, and Logone-et-Chari, with funding from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Christian Blind Mission (CBM).

The workshop brought together Regional Delegates of Public Health, Social Affairs, Basic Education, and Secondary Education, humanitarian organisations, religious leaders, technical coordinators, key stakeholders, field teams, Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs), and other project partners. They met around a shared objective: to develop a comprehensive, inclusive, and well-coordinated plan for multidisciplinary health outreach activities planned for 2026. These interventions primarily target vulnerable populations, including refugees, internally displaced persons, and host communities within the project’s areas of intervention.
Discussions during the workshop enabled participants to analyze gaps and challenges encountered during the 2025 interventions, design a strategic deployment plan for inclusive and specialized mobile health services for 2026, and identify and validate priority communities and intervention sites.

In 2026, according to the plan, a total of 24 Mobile outreaches will be implemented across the project’s intervention zones, with a particular focus on key specialties including Mental Health, Physiotherapy, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics and Ear Nose and Throat (ENT).
Through this planning workshop, the Cameroon Baptist Health Services and its partners reaffirm their commitment to improving access to quality specialized health care, enhancing the resilience of crisis-affected populations, and promoting inclusive and sustainable humanitarian health interventions in Cameroon’s Far North Region.
