On October 15, 2024, trainers gathered at the Nkwen Baptist Hospital Chapel hall to participate in an intensive one-day workshop focused on supporting the young beneficiaries of the Income Generating Activity championed by the Equality Project. This critical training was organized in collaboration with the Integrated Development Foundation (IDF) to equip the trainers with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively guide the trainees, living with HIV, in developing sustainable livelihoods.

The workshop covered an array of essential topics, from HIV basics to business skills and effective youth engagement strategies. This comprehensive curriculum is a vital starting point for building a network of capable individuals who can empower countless young people living with HIV. By providing them with the necessary tools and knowledge, this program aims at enabling these youths to make informed decisions and significantly improve their lives.
“This training is a game-changer for the young beneficiaries of the Income Generation Activity,” said the project coordinator, Mme Anankeng Justine. “By equipping the trainers with the right skills and resources, we are creating a supportive ecosystem that will empower these youths to take control of their futures and build thriving livelihoods”.

The carefully selected trainers underwent this intensive workshop to ensure they are well-equipped to guide the trainees in their desired livelihood activities. This collaborative effort between the Equality Project and the Integrated Development Foundation demonstrates a deep commitment to addressing the multifaceted challenges faced by these young people.
Through this initiative, the Equality Project and its partners are fostering a sustainable and inclusive approach to empowering vulnerable youth. By investing in their skills and providing them with the necessary support, this program aims to create lasting change and open up new pathways to self-sufficiency and economic independence for young people living with HIV.
As the workshop participants return to their communities, they are expected to make a profound impact on the lives of the young beneficiaries.
