The Health Services Complex (HSC) Mutengene hosted CBCHS drivers from February 20–21, 2026, for a transformative two-day seminar coordinated by Mr. Wango Barnabas, CBCHS Public Relations Officer. The seminar opened in a lively and engaging atmosphere with comprehensive self-introductions, setting the tone for unity and shared purpose.

Speaking on behalf of the 78 drivers, Mr. Fonyuy Victor expressed appreciation to management for the opportunity and encouraged his colleagues to remain focused.

Representing the Director of Health Services, the Administrator of HSC, Mr. Loke Samuel, welcomed participants and emphasized the indispensable role drivers play in fulfilling the CBCHS’ mission. Drawing inspiration from Herbert Spencer’s view that every part of society is vital to the whole, he urged the drivers to love their work, stay self-motivated, and act responsibly, before officially declaring the seminar open.

Throughout the seminar, participants were equipped both professionally and personally. Sessions covered anger management, highlighting the connection between family life and performance on the road; the CBC Motor Vehicle Policy, with interactive discussions on trip tickets and vehicle expense records; and the critical role of drivers in supply chain management. Presentations on corporate vehicle responsibility underscored drivers as custodians of institutional assets and stewards of CBCHS reputation.

Road safety was reinforced through detailed discussions on the Highway Code, while health experts addressed lifestyle modification in the fight against non-communicable diseases. Additional sessions treated alcohol and driving, the consequences of illicit sexual behavior, public relations skills for drivers, first aid principles inspired by the Good Samaritan, coping with difficult individuals, and issues related to national social insurance. Group discussions generated resolutions expected to guide operations and inform future policy reforms, and a final question-and-answer session provided clarity and deeper engagement.

The seminar was not only academic but also fostered fellowship and unity. A friendly football match brought together drivers from different regions, with the Director of Health Services, Mr. Ngum Samuel, symbolically playing for both sides. The experience concluded with a refreshing picnic along the Atlantic shore in Limbe, giving participants time to relax and bond. By the end of the two days, the drivers departed renewed in knowledge, responsibility, and commitment, better prepared to serve as professional drivers and worthy ambassadors of the CBCHS mission.
