CBC Health Services trains Regional Focal Points on Digital Clubfoot Data Management (DAMA) Platform

Practical Session on navigating the platform

The Cameroon Clubfoot Care Program (CCCP) of the CBC Health Services has trained eight Regional Focal Point clinicians on the Clubfoot Data Management (DAMA) Platform to strengthen data management and reporting across clubfoot clinics.

The training brought together participants from clinics in the West, Northwest, Southwest, and Littoral Regions. It took place on March 12, 2026, at the Conference Hall of the Directorate of CBC Health Services at the Baptist Center in Nkwen, Bamenda.

According to the CCCP National Coordinator, Mr. Tamon James, the training aimed at introducing the DAMA platform to clinicians for validation and equipping the selected focal points with the skills needed to support clubfoot clinics in their respective regions with data entry and management.

The Cameroon Clubfoot Care Program recently deployed the DAMA platform to digitalize patient tracking from initial identification through treatment and monitoring of outcomes. The platform is expected to enhance the effective and accurate data collection and reporting within the program.

To ensure effective implementation, Regional Focal Point clinicians were selected and trained to serve as key actors responsible for ensuring data quality and completeness at the regional level. They will also serve as a link between facility-level data entry staff and the national program management.

Welcoming participants to the workshop, Mr. Tamon James emphasized that the responsibilities of the Regional Focal Points extend beyond their own clinics. He noted that they are expected to visit other clubfoot clinics within their regions during clinic days to supervise data entry, verify record quality, and provide technical support to clinicians.

During the training, participants were practically introduced to the DAMA platform and guided on how to enter information from patient assessment forms into the system. Facilitators also highlighted common data entry errors and shared best practices for maintaining high-quality data in real time.

The one-day workshop, which focused more on practical sessions than theory, was facilitated by the DAMA Manager, Mr. Ndosak George, the CCCP Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, Mr. Yingoh Harris, and the DAMA Development Technician, Mr. Ngume Karl.

Following the training, participants are expected to regularly enter data from clubfoot patient forms into the DAMA platform on a monthly basis. This will facilitate easier reporting and analysis of treatment progress across clinics and support the monitoring of national program trends.

The training was organized with funding from Hope and Healing.

Clubfoot is a congenital foot deformity in which a child is born with one or both feet twisted inward, preventing the feet from being placed flat on the ground. The condition is effectively treated using the Ponseti technique, the global gold standard for clubfoot treatment.
