The Cameroon Baptist Convention Health Services (CBCHS) commemorated the graduation of its finance clerks for the 2025 batch, on January 10, 2026, a momentous occasion in professional development of its finance leaders and stewards. The ceremony, held at the Nkwen Baptist Hospital chapel, crowned the successful completion of two cohorts, the first batch in April and the second in June, comprising a total of 74 students for a three-month finance clerk training program.
The Director of Health Services (DHS), Mr. Samuel Ngum, in his keynote address, urged the graduands to remember that this graduation is not just an end, but the beginning of a new era. He encouraged them to carry forward the values of integrity, accuracy, commitment to excellence that have been instilled in them, challenging them to be more than just practitioners. “You should be pioneers and ambassadors of the CBC Health Services’ values, mission, and vision. Let these principles guide your decisions. Let them shape your professional conduct and let them inspire you to make a positive impact in the world of finances,” he said.
The Deputy Director for Administration and Finance (DDAF), Mr. Warri Denis emphasized the importance of integrity in finance and administration, citing the CBCHS’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and excellence. He went further saying, Excellence isn’t a destination, it’s a journey. And it’s built on four key pillars: ownership and loyalty, integrity and character, teamwork, and competence and mastery. Prompting them to own the mission of CBC Health Services, and commit to its success. Be a person of integrity, with a strong character. Work together with your team, and apply your skills with diligence and precision, being responsible stewards of resources, using their skills to serve others.
The Administrator of Nkwen Baptist Hospital, Madame Tangwa Faith expressed delight that her facility was used for the training. She offered congratulations and a verse to the graduating finance clerks, Philippians 4:8 as a verse of guidance as the start their careers.
The Course Coordinator, Mr. Lukong Suika presented the graduands and giving insights to what this training program entails. He congratulated the newly trained finance clerks, encouraging them to be diligent and to uphold integrity in their areas of work. “I want to say that the quality of this training speaks for itself. We’ve had amazing instructors and mentors who’ve helped shape these individuals into the professionals they are today,” he said.
Certificates of completion were handed out to the graduands as well as prices of excellence awarded to persons with exceptional scores by the Director of Health Services. The graduates expressed their gratitude to the CBCHS administration, trainers, and mentors, who have supported and guided them throughout their journey, also thanking their families and friends, who have encouraged and supported them every step of the way.
