As part of the Project Building Resilience for enhanced access to basic services of Health, Education and Social Inclusion in the Far North Region, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Christian Blind Mission (CBM), and implemented by the Cameroon Baptist Convention Health Services (CBCHS), a series of training sessions on inclusive education held from September 22-26, 2025 in the conference hall of Meskine Baptist Hospital.

For 5 days, from September 15-19, 2025, Twenty-five secondary school teachers were equipped with approaches and pedagogical practices that promote the inclusion of students with disabilities and other children with learning difficulties. From September 22-26, 2025, forty-two basic education teachers benefited from similar capacity-building sessions, tailored to their level of intervention. Finally, on Saturday, September 27, a session brought together 57 participants (52 school Administrators, 3 Inspectors of education and 2 University lecturers) to reflect on their crucial role in establishing an inclusive and sustainable school environment.

The workshop was facilitated by Dr. Longla Fobuzie Bridget, Education Advisor at CBCHS, who emphasized the importance of building an education system using the universal design for learning. According to her, “The success of an inclusive school depends on the ability of teachers and school leaders to identify the specific needs of each learner and respond to them appropriately”.

This initiative reflects the project’s commitment to strengthening community resilience by ensuring all children have equitable access to quality education. Participants welcomed the relevance of the training and committed to applying the skills acquired in their respective institutions.
